Loss of another great musician

Jeff Healey died yesterday at age 41. He originally lost his eyesight to cancer and it returned to his eyes, legs and lungs. It's really sad and it comes on the heels of the loss of the great Oscar Petersen. Hope you guys have fun jamming wherever you are.

and one of my favourites Monk's "Round Midnight" as performed by Oscar Peterson (also "Waltz for Debbie")

The Police and Elvis Costello

After suffering a severe disappointment as a 14 year old - I wanted to see the 1983 Police picnic (with Blue Peter, King Sunny Ade and others) so bad but no way as the family was going to the cottage for two weeks. Then there was the Synchronicity tour for which I was probably told I was too young - I finally am going to see The Police live. With Elvis Costello to boot. I ended up splurging and have 12th row tickets section B for Scotiaplace in Kanata (formerly the Corel Centre). Nah, I'm not just a little bit excited!

I saw Sting some 20 years ago at Wonderland with Canada and the circle comes around - I'm going to see the Police with her in her (current) home town!

I used to have a huge poster of this last picture that was drymounted. I think I am seriously regretting letting my parents get rid of it. Sigh. See what happens when you get rid of things? You always regret it!!

I don't believe I would do it....

Since I haven't posted anything for a while, and since Canada's last meme looked like fun here goes....

31%

Well at least Canada is 7 % more likely to do it then me!

15 years since diagnosed

February 18th will be a milestone of sorts I guess. It was on that day in 1993 that I learned I have CML - chronic myelogenous leukemia. I don't think at the time I could see this far ahead. One never does normally, but even more so I was so afraid that I wouldn't survive. But I did. And here I am......

Happy New Year.
