So I ordered two Palm Treos for peter and I. Initially didn't go with the unlimited email and internet, but then thought, I want it!!! I love this phone. I've become addicted to text messaging. Talked more to S then I have in a year since I received the phone. I love it.

This is my phone (okay well not literally) but a picture of the model:

Other then the phone the week has been full of Nor virus flu. Came down with it Saturday night. Fortunately it seems to become milder each time I come down with it. Although I still wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Took Monday off because I was still weak and dehyrdated. Went to work Tuesday and felt fine. Wednesday I got on the train and thought I was going to hurl. Fought it back and went in anyway. Ate saltines to try and cope with the waves of queasiness. By 1 pm I knew I wasn't function so went home. Slept most of the next day. Have lost 6 more lbs. Stupid. I hate the way it's so hard to build up muscle mass and SOOO easy to lose it. And even easier for me because I don't have much to lose to begin with.

I am going to ask Dr. L about physio - I think I need some help getting back some body muscle mass. But what a pain.

Mr. Sandman

Didn't sleep last night very well. Woke up with cramps alternating in my calves. Had done new exercise in Wii Fit leg lunges. Think that probably exacerbated it. Oh well.

I had to dodge my Go train buddy this morning because I was so tired. I needed to sleep every single second I could get on the way in. Yesterday he wouldn't let me sleep until we got to Clarkson! Ugh! And then my leg started to cramp on the train. Oh joy oh bliss!

Hee Hee.... S and C got two rats one for little S and the other for C. Little S named hers Remy and C named his Ampersand. He totally fell in love with Chetters when they were over Saturday night. He was saying he wanted to get a rat and S said something don't remember what quite, but my response was, he didn't know he wanted a rat friend until he met Chetters (or something to that effect!).

Anyway, I'm am in the midst of creating process flows so I should really stop procrastinating and get back to it.

Squeeeks

Squeeeks died last night. She was 5 years old and not quite two months. She seemed fine - I don't know what caused it.

December 12th update: I really miss my Squeeks. I miss her cuddles and her kisses and her sweet sweet face.

Helen Guest

Yesterday was Helen's memorial service. It was held at her house and there were a lot of people and heartfelt memories were told. It really hit me close to home. She is my cousin once removed (my Dad's first cousin) and she was only 63. The same age as p. This was her death notice in the Sloppy Grail last week:

GUEST, Helen Nancy
PhD, FCPRS
(Jan. 9, 1945 – Nov. 18, 2008) Died in her sleep in her 63rd year. Helen (née McKnight) was devoted to her family. She was the much loved daughter of Bill and Nancy McKnight, the beloved wife for 41 years of John Guest, and dear mother of Jennifer and Michael. She was very close to her siblings, Jane Steenberg, Michael McKnight, and Bob McKnight, and to their families, as well as to her husband's family. After completing her PhD in English at Trinity College, University of Toronto, Helen found her niche as a speechwriter and business communicator, first with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, later with William M. Mercer, and finally on a freelance basis with The Institute of Corporate Directors and a major accounting firm (she sometimes said she ''specialized in dull''). A celebration of Helen's life will be held in her home at 166 Glen Manor Drive, Toronto on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 2:00 pm.

I did get to see family members at the memorial that I have either never met or only met when I was very small. But I feel very sad. I was only just getting to know that side of my family and now I've lost one member.
